Using a Tuchong submission by Lin Yufei — a telephoto frame of the moon over a red-brick block — the episode demonstrates how to produce a Hasselblad master Ben Thomas-style candy-tone image entirely in Camera Raw: corrections and crop first to build the geometry, a bright-and-soft tonal base, the calibration panel's blue primary for a one-slider color shift, then HSL polish. Right-click in Bridge and choose Open in Camera Raw (or enter via Photoshop's Filter menu), and the JPEG enters the editing flow (at 1:32 in the video)."},{"t":"img","f":"v03","w":852,"h":480},{"t":"img","f":"v04","w":852,"h":480},{"t":"h","x":"02 校正与裁剪：先立好几何骨架","xe":"02 Corrections and Crop: Building the Geometry"},{"t":"p","x":"拿到照片先做基本分析：目标是糖果色——整体亮度要提高，蓝色要往青偏，暖色往橙色、粉色偏一点。第一步基本功：镜头校正、删除色差照例勾上；因为主体是建筑，再用变换工具选「自动」，让楼体横平竖直（视频 2:13 处）——画面立刻有了几何结构感。","xe":"Start with analysis: the goal is a candy tone — raise overall brightness, ease blue toward teal, nudge warm colors toward orange and pink. First, the fundamentals: check lens corrections and remove chromatic aberration as always; since the subject is architecture, run the Transform tool on Auto to square up the buildings (at 2:13 in the video) — the frame instantly gains that geometric structure."},{"t":"img","f":"v05","w":852,"h":480},{"t":"img","f":"v06","w":852,"h":480},{"t":"p","x":"评片环节还给了一个前期建议：如果拍摄时再往左走一点，让两栋楼完全对称——而不是一边凸出、一边凹进——效果会更上一层（视频 2:28 处）。后期则用裁剪工具保住这个对称的简洁构图，把左右两侧多余的边裁掉（视频 2:46 处）。","xe":"The critique also offers a shooting tip: step a little further left so the two buildings align perfectly symmetric — rather than one protruding and one recessing — and the shot levels up (at 2:28 in the video). As noted in the video, Thomas leans on the HSL tool, but the demonstrator found another tool exceptionally efficient for candy tones — the calibration panel (at 4:43 in the video; see the site's calibration-panel article for the theory). Slide the blue primary's hue left and the whole frame's cool tones drift toward teal while warm tones drift toward orange-red — precisely candy's two poles. Around -50, the classic candy palette appears at once (at 5:12 in the video); a slight boost to the blue primary's saturation brings the overall richness along (at 5:24 in the video)."},{"t":"img","f":"v10","w":852,"h":480},{"t":"h","x":"05 HSL 精修：让糖果色通透起来","xe":"05 HSL Polish: Making Candy Colors Sing"},{"t":"p","x":"蓝原色一步到位后，红色开始有点太红，进入 HSL 做精细微调。色相上：红色稍稍往橙偏（视频 5:43 处），橙色不要紫红、往红的方向收一点（视频 5:52 处），蓝色经过校准面板已经差不多，不必再动。明亮度是这里的关键：蓝色明亮度再抬高一点点（视频 6:04 处），橙色和红色则要大幅度提升——只有这样，糖果色的颜色才会变得通透、干净、舒服（视频 6:15 处）。","xe":"With the blue primary shift in place, the reds start feeling too red — time for fine-tuning in HSL. Hue: ease red slightly toward orange (at 5:43 in the video), and pull orange back toward red so it doesn't go purple-red (at 5:52 in the video); blue is already settled by the calibration panel. Luminance is the key here: raise blue's luminance a touch more (at 6:04 in the video), and push orange and red up substantially — that's what makes candy colors turn translucent, clean and pleasant (at 6:15 in the video)."},{"t":"img","f":"v11","w":852,"h":480},{"t":"p","x":"饱和度上，红色如果觉得过强就单独降一点，橙色饱和度也收一些（视频 6:29 处）。到这里，糖果色调的主体调整已经完成；剩下的局部瑕疵——画面里比较乱、看着不舒服的小元素——可以进 Photoshop 用污点去除等工具做最后清理（视频 6:49 处）。回顾前后对比：影调提亮提软、黑场发灰、蓝原色左移、HSL 提亮橙红——四步，一张糖果色调就诞生了。","xe":"For saturation, dial red back slightly if it feels strong, and ease orange's saturation too (at 6:29 in the video). At this point the candy grade is essentially done; remaining local distractions — small messy elements — can be cleaned up in Photoshop with spot removal (at 6:49 in the video). HSL 精修收尾：红偏橙、橙收红，橙红明亮度大幅提升求通透，饱和度过强则微降，最后去瑕输出。","xe":"1. Candy tones are built on geometric simplicity up front: the Ben Thomas formula pairs teal-blue cool tones with orange-pink warm ones, bright, clean and symmetrically composed; 2. The tonal mantra: raise exposure, pull highlights down, lift shadows substantially and lift the black point, then raise the curve's black point to deep gray — no pure black anywhere; 3. The color shortcut lives in the calibration panel: slide the blue primary's hue to about -50 so cool tones shift toward teal and warm tones toward orange-red, with a slight saturation boost; 4. Finish in HSL: red toward orange, orange back toward red, orange and red luminance raised substantially for that translucent glow, saturation trimmed if too strong, then clean up and export."},{"t":"h","x":"欢迎关注@Thomas看看世界，","xe":"Follow @Thomas Chu Photo,"},{"t":"h","x":"每周学会一个摄影技能。","xe":"and learn one photography skill every week."}],"titleEn":"Those Gorgeous Candy-Color Photos — Here's How They're Graded"}
