Thomas Sees the World · Professional Photographer
Chu Weimin, known across all platforms as "Thomas Sees the World" (Thomas看看世界), is a professional photographer born in 1990 in Chongqing, China.
Specializing in landscape, documentary and commercial photography, he is the Global Grand Prize winner of the 2019 National Geographic Travel Photo Contest, a 2023 World Press Photo awardee, a 2024 Hasselblad Master, and recipient of the 15th China Photography Golden Statue Award. Named Weibo's Most Influential Photography Blogger (2020-2025), he has amassed over 5 million followers across social platforms.
His work focuses on the changing contemporary landscape, creatively presenting the face of China's ongoing development. Series such as A Different China and China Through Train Windows have been widely covered by People's Daily, Xinhua News Agency, CCTV and other major media, while Greenland in Transition, Faint Light and Green Future have each reached hundreds of millions of views in domestic and international press.
Chu has served as art advisor to the photography associations of Zhejiang University and Fudan University, and as guest lecturer for Tsinghua University's Photography: Theory & Practice and Peking University's AI for Photography courses. With over 500 original photography tutorials published, he holds significant influence among both enthusiasts and professionals, and has served numerous commercial brands.
