Tibet Through the Train Window is a core chapter of photographer Chu Weimin’s China Through Train Windows series, and took home the Landscape category award at the 2023 Hasselblad Masters. Over several years, the photographer made over 30 round trips across the snow-covered plateau aboard trains on the Qinghai-Tibet Railway and Lhasa-Nyingchi Railway. Using the train window as a natural frame, he juxtaposes everyday scenes inside the carriage with the vast plateau landscape outside, creating a body of contemporary imagery that blends landscape aesthetics with the texture of the era.
