One practical article every week, making photography easy to learn
In the article "5 Landscape Photographers Most Worth Following on 500px", Thomas introduced 5 of the hottest photographers and their brilliant work in today's popular landscape field.
Today I'll share 4 more landscape photographers active on Instagram. Although they don't have many followers on social media, each pursues perfection in their own field, forming a distinctive body of work.
Warren Keelan is a seascape photographer living on the southern coast of Australia. Unlike ordinary seascape photography, Warren focuses his vision on individual waves — pushing "the wave" to its extreme.
Thanks to his excellent surfing, diving, and swimming skills, he can capture towering waves several meters high from unique perspectives on or even under the water, at close range.
Unlike the wide-angle slow shutter commonly used to silken or fog seascapes, he aims his lens at the details of waves and uses a fast shutter to capture their ultimate beauty in fleeting light. In his photos, waves become the most exquisite artworks in the world.
Vesa Pihanurmi is a photographer based in Helsinki, Finland. He excels at exploring our everyday life through new perspectives, details, and techniques drawn from ordinary streets and scenes.
He photographs ordinary streets to their extreme, thereby forming his own unique style.
In his urban street photos, a tiny figure often appears — sometimes a blurred human silhouette formed by long exposure — filling the photos with a sense of space and time.
Viewing his photos, we're often amazed at the photographer's superb visual construction, turning ordinary streets into scenes of mysterious and special atmosphere.
Jonathan Griffith is a photographer who grew up in Chamonix, France, a mountaineering mecca in the Alps. He is also one of the world's finest alpine photographers today.
As an expert alpine-style climber, Jonathan has collaborated with top mountaineers like the "Swiss Machine" Ueli Steck, capturing images that ordinary people can hardly imagine.
Through his photos, we get a glimpse into the climbing lives of mountaineers, as well as those tense moments between life and death.
Lars Van De Goor is a Dutch photographer focused on forest landscapes. He now travels the world all year round, searching for and documenting the most beautiful and distinctive forest scenes.
Deeply influenced by Romantic landscape painters, Lars's main motivation and inspiration come from mysterious nature and ever-changing light. His photos are always filled with a charming sense of mystery.
He has loved music since childhood, so his compositions are always full of rhythm and cadence. Viewing his photos is like listening to a hymn to nature.
Photographer friends often ask me how to develop their own unique pre- and post-processing style.
Explore the places you're truly curious about, record the scenes you genuinely love, depict the landscapes you truly cherish, and keep at it to perfection — your own unique style will naturally form.
Whether it's waves, forests, snowy mountains, or streets, the 4 photographers Thomas shared today all persist in long-term exploration and shooting, digging into places few notice and taking each subject to its extreme.
