Bilibili's promotional short film "Rising Waves" (《后浪》) has been flooding screens these past two days. This article has no intention of discussing the value debate within it; instead, it selects some magnificent masterpieces of roads and bridges across China from the "Rediscovering Geography — AdventureX Landscape Photography Contest."
Some of these roads and bridges stand in the concrete jungles of Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen, witnessing China's rapid economic development; others were built across the mountains and deserts of western China, proclaiming the original aspiration of the poverty-alleviation campaign.
Whether urban or rural, the vast China surely still has great potential, and these roads and bridges to the future are undoubtedly the most beautiful gifts the former generation left for the rising generation.
Since 1919, the Chinese nation has embarked on an indomitable and arduous long march. Every generation has left a resounding mark on history and blazed more development paths and bridges of civilization for the next generation — and we are still on the road.
Finally, let me close with a message from the President:
"Chinese youth of the new era should inherit and carry forward the spirit of the May Fourth Movement, stay firm in ideals and convictions, stand firmly with the people, hone solid skills, devote themselves to the great cause of national strength, always maintain a hardworking and enterprising stance, and, together with hundreds of millions of people, fight bravely on the new long march toward realizing the Chinese Dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation!"
